About Me:
"We are each a poem unfolding eternally unceasingly self-arising unique and authentic." Yes to self-co-creating a place of healing and of life.
Long-time educator, published author and artist, I am also involved in holistic energy medicine. I practice polarity therapy, Vianna Stibal’s DNA healing techniques, and the Yuen Method, all of which she finds most elegant. Language matters—language of the mind, the body, and the spirit. She has combined poetic processes and holistic techniques to assist in practices of re-creating the self. “I am a poet and that is how I approach all that I do. I see the power of language coded in us and help you to find and be in your resonance—whether it be through the poetic process or theta work or polarity—for then we choose rightly.” Published Creative Resonance—Poetry: Elegant Play, Elegant Change (2006), a book on how to develop a poetic vision and consciousness; 25 Roses (2008), book of poems on/for my father; Words for Hungry Tongues (2000), collection of eros/spiritual poems; and more. My teaching is focused on issues of Whole Life Health (creativity & holism).

A poem for now...

When the Child Dances
~ Ambika Talwar

So the child dances,
engrossed in her body’s notes
wild and happy—more
Intent than one can know.

When we awake in the morning,
we stand at the window. Look at the sun
It, too, dances on treetops, filters through
life as her eyes eager focused and demanding.

And when I am late for the dance,
child’s eyes accuse me of negligence—
Like we do the sun when greyed clouds
overhang heavy and full of pathos.

Now I am on time for the dance
as when she wishes to dance.
For my music is all over the place—
especially, uncoiling in that hiding heart of mine,

and even in all our tears,
for life’s sumptuous eternal longing—
the quiet sad spaces that are filled
with the joy of dance itself.

That is all there is—the dance,
the way the child dances it.
And when I dance this way? The sun squeezes
through the all-eternal darkness.

So the child, she dances!
Whirling through dark shadows
like swirling shafts of light
neither this nor that—just wild with glee!

Definately! If I had checked this sooner, we could have met up in Santa Monica at an MFA reading at Track 18. Post any readings you know about and I'll do the same.

Peace.

Just a passing thought — not definitive. Glad you enjoyed. Been a while. Thanks for the last statement. Wish you the same.

"my art and poetry are on the mystical end (not your style or flavour)"

Really? How can you tell?

I must say I very much liked your book and I enjoyed our conversation on that ride to the old Atomic Cafe with Amelie when we were in agreement on our opposition to the death penalty.

May all the gods protect, may you be without fear and may you dwell in peace.

As ever,
Richard

By the way, I regret that I never took up the offer to visit your studio that you made when you read for us at the Hot House all those years ago.
