Poets for Human Rights

Words of Freedom

Megan

For those who have been hurt...

*Posting this tonight for DragonBlue. I wrote this several years ago. The work itself is untitled.

until I get my wings

I'm grounded

something lost

then compounded

into fear

I was surrounded

scattered reasoning

unconfounded

I pause and feel

to find my way

through the dark

I hide my pain

and turn to find this

this my

Metamorphisis

buried in my chrysalis

weaving beauty

of hideousness

weaving colour

from the gray

thread the black

through eye

of day

brilliant hues

yet unseen

unfolding deep

inside of me

scorching

twisting

haunting

burning

none had fathomed

such returning

be gentle wind

be still the air

the waiting wants

should have care

know the time

time it takes

as the chrysalis

awakes

know the strength

no longer dormant

know the passion

and its informant

but know this

and listen close

the colours born

will hide

the ghost

and know

that as my wings

unfurl

inside

I'm just

a little girl.

This is so beautiful, and haunting. This brings awake the child within.
