Sky Blue China

Paint me on china
it'll be easier
to break me,
smashing things is tiring.
Scattered into a thousand pieces...
a comic picture of irony.
Professionally made false teeth
fly overhead.
The Walkman deafens irony,
rubs out the world of stupidity
that you defend.
My eyes wander over the china
as over oil,
you stare at them from your stupid world.
Don't touch my eyes!
They're no longer sky-blue.
I can't see what they are anymore.

Aphorisms

We sold our soul to the devil.
Now he's coming to pick up the package.

Every time I turn on the TV
I get lost in the dark.

I'm not afraid to say what I think.
I'm afraid of thinking.

DAWN

DAWN

They made a shadow of me
the shadow of a future
disturbed
creature
they bestowed words,
imagined,
empty,
so they would ring
in the ears
they threw out
the fruits of imagination
from the rotten innards –
let it wander
like a shadow of a future.

U OSVIT

Napraviše od mene senku
budućeg
iskompleksiranog
stvora
dadoše reči
imaginarne
prazne
da odzvanjaju
u ušima
izbaciše
plod mašte
iz trule utorbe
da šeta
kao senka
budućeg.

Vesna, Thank you so much! So exciting to see the poem for peace in the Cyrllic! We will print it in our next volume of translations next year, and send you a copy. Is there a chance you can record it as mp3 and put it up either with the poem or the video of poem for peace?

I love "let it wanted like a shadow of the future" hints to me of something that TS Eliot or Ezra Pound would have said :)

Wow - that is totally amazing. I would love to see it when it is done, though I don't speak Serbian, it would be interesting to see how it translates.
