human rights...a faux concept??

i mean...cuba for over 50 years has practiced
NO HUMAN RIGHTS..............and millionaire
status to fidel & his buds

when there are NO HUMAN RIGHTS 90 miles
from America...is the assertion of FOR or AGAINST
human rights a
REAL
(objective)
concept...................................I have my doubts.

i don't thin many
people are interested
in...'human rights'

i wonder if the topic is an
facet
of 'political correctness'...?
and
that is why there is
so little interest>>

It Takes a Village

No, it doesn't!
It takes each
Free, unfettered,
Self-reliant villager
Pushing, planning,
saving - solving.

need for human rights?

1)half the muslim world...women
2)ALL humans in the womb...the right to be born
3)ALL humans...life/liberty/pursuit of happiness

If... 1 and 3 are defended for #2...all will be well!!
If not...nothing will be well.

Hello Lynn
Just returning from ten days in Paris (visiting daughter) and Iceland (relaxing) - Just missed the big quake there. Now getting ready for planting our summer garden. Taking some time away from politics, although still supporting our state rep, Betty Hall, who is trying to get the NH legislature to encourage the National Congress to begin impeachment hearings.
Hope you are well.

I don't know how that happened either...maybe the universe is saying your response deserves to be read twice! :) Thanks for the insightful, thoughtful comment. I appreciate it and glad to be getting to know you!

About Me:

I haven't been mingling much these days, I know. I want to try to explain it by getting into my negativity and cynicism, but I know that such talk only serves to bring us down and I am trying to fight those feelings as many of you are. I am not sure why I succumbed and tripped so much this year on my doubts, why I became so oblivious to the hopeful things, the magical things, that happen in spite of it all. It's like I got to a point where I was looking for reasons to feel hopeless- and you know it doesn't take a lot of looking to feel overwhelmed and futile.
I think that in the past, friends and supportive people had a way of bolstering my faith in change, and when I was involved in more direct action I felt more empowered, like I was doing something. Now to some extent I am spinning my wheels a bit, trying to figure out the best place for my energy.

With respect to poetry and writing and art, I decided that I wanted to go past just talking about disparity and gender representation and class- and try to work on projects in keeping with my concerns.
I am now working on an online literary website, called Full of Crow, which publishes poetry, fiction, art, and reviews. There's a section for opinion, and social commentary where we hope to encourage diverse voices.
I also work on some zines, some political websites, distro, produce a few chapbooks, work collaboratively with small press and outsider publishers and writers.

Please feel free to write, tell me what you are doing, get in touch.
