John Milton, Shakespeare, the Cavalier poets, 18th century and romantic literature, Emily Dickinson, Jane Austin, Kurt Vonnegut, Russian literature, the great epics in Old English, Latin and Greek; I (very slowly) translate ancient writings, especially cuneiform (esp. Ugaritic) and Egyptian heiroglyphics (Ptolemaic era) which continue to intrigue and fascinate, as they display the evolution of philosophy, social structures, humane thought ,and the foundations of literature.
