About Me:
Jeanne Marie Spicuzza is a writer, filmmaker, actress, herbalist, tarot reader, activist, painter and illustrator. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in philosophy and psychology from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. The founder of arts collective Seasons & a Muse, Inc., Ms. Spicuzza is published in Shepherd Express, Poets Against War, Poetry Motel, Poetic Diversity and others. She has featured internationally at Ladyfest, Lollapalooza, Nuyorican Poets Cafe, Pabst Theatre and more, and on television and radio such as MATA, NPR, BBC, WSUM and ROR Italia. She portrayed the fortune-telling Toyota Yaris on the 2006 Dew Action Sports Tour. Her films have screened at festivals, like Wisconsin and Portobello Film Festivals, worldwide. She has received awards and nominations from the National Organization for Women, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, the Vatican Division of Arts and Culture and others. Her collection, beautiful terrible & true, is in its second printing through Libri Publishers. Her self-titled CD received a nomination for the Golden Headset Award. Ms. Spicuzza's audio and visual work may be found on permanent exhibition at the Brooklyn Museum and at the David Barnett Gallery. She travels whenever she can.
