Event Description

FIVE million Iraqi orphans, anti-corruption board reveals

Baghdad - Voices of Iraq

Baghdad, Dec 15, 2008 (VOI) – Iraq’s anti-corruption board revealed on Saturday that there were five million Iraqi orphans as reported by official government statistics, urging the government, parliament, and NGOs to be in constant contact with Iraq’s parentless children

Do you know them ?
Have anyone tell you anything about them?
Do you know how they live ?
Do you know do they eat or not ? Are they sick or healthy ? Do they go to school or not ?
And most important, Do they smile ????

I am I asking too much if I asked that every poet in poets for human rights to write a poem for them. Will I be greed if I asked that you introduce the world to those 5 millions orphans and make the world do its moral duty towards them.

Every child should be able to bring a friend to dinner with the family.

I offer this poem:

dinner time
his kite pulls the wind
toward home

From a Poor U.S. Parent

I, inadequate, have been your mother;
I have been your absent father;
I will make my ways straight
to be better for you.

I promise to return in love and peace;
I promise to rectify my errors,
remember your importance,
put you, beloved child, first.

I have stood by too many
graves and have neglected your
cradles. I am back to sing to you,
rock you to sleep:

Peace be with you, peace
be with you, love surround you,
play enfold you, joy be your
constant companion. Sing and
dance, my child.

I will
sing to you
teach you
work for you
love you.

Let the dead bury their dead.
You and I are here, and
I love you. I'll be your mother,
father, brother, sister, friend.

Salaam aleichem.
Namaste
Dobro zhelayu
Shalom
Peace
